IPF

IPF (Ingeniería del Poliuretano Flexible) is a leader in foam handling systems and specialized machinery for polyurethane foam blocks. They began their journey more than 25 years ago as an engineering company, designing plants, machines and handling system for the polyurethane sector.

Steadily, thanks to Savvy's collaboration, they have became providers of a wide array of services for this area.

CHALLENGE

The main challenge for IPF in the area of digitization lied in translating the needs of their customers (foam producers) into concrete solutions, divided in two main categories: improvement of productivity and circular economy.


Traditionally, producers of foam could only access a few process parameters such as temperature, pressure or the amount of raw material used, and had little control over final product quality.

SOLUTION

So that foam producers could monitor and improve their processes, together we created the MyFoamPlant platform.


MyFoamPlant is a plaform based on Savvy Industrial Cloud, capable of extracting data from many different polyurethane plant elements, that provides full traceability and a global view of production for performance improvement.

Through MyFoamPlant, customers of IPF can access every phase of the process: foaming, curing, storage, cutting, etc. They can dive in and monitor & control parameters defining quality of the final product, such as density, distortion or cavitation.

On top of it all, we have been working alongside IPF on strategic solutions to further a whole new range of Industry 4.0 products. Thanks to this, IPF has overhauled their traditional business plans, shaping innovative products and services that they already bring to the market, and will keep doing so for the next years.

RESULTS

Barely 10 years ago IPF was a manufacturer of machines, of legacy systems, of bare metal. Today, they are a company that brings data driven solutions to their customers.


In addition to bolstering sales numbers, digitization has also motivated IPF to develop new products for areas previously unexplored, entirely transforming their catalog of products and services offered with resounding success.

Customers of IPF report yearly savings in the range of 300k - 700k€ in raw materials per plant thanks to the solutions developed in partnership with Savvy.
